Self Employment Program

The world of work is changing. With these changes, many people are redefining the role work plays in their lives. For some, like David Goodland, this means pursuing the independence of self-employment and business ownership.

Are you interested in starting your own business? Are you unemployed? Have you received Employment Insurance benefits in the last five years? Have you been in the labor market for at least two years? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions then the Self Employment Benefit (SEB) Program, funded by Employment Nova Scotia, could be the perfect program to assist you in getting your business operational.

The SEB Program enables eligible individuals to continue receiving their Employment Insurance benefits while they are establishing their business. If you are an aspiring entrepreneur, and you are accepted for this program, you will receive income support, one-on-one business counselling and advice, access to training programs, and other business supports.

To determine if you are eligible for this program please visit the Antigonish Career Connections: Nova Scotia Works Office at 50 James Street or phone 902-863-8244.
