The StFX Extension Innovation and Enterprise Centre Incubator provides on-site working space for up to five tenants, including amenities such as: wireless internet, reception services, a conference room, and kitchen facilities.
Gaining access to the Centre’s Incubator facilities requires more than just applying to rent space. Potential tenants have to meet specific requirements laid out by the Incubator Advisory Board. Once accepted as tenants, lease agreements, generally limited to two years occupation, will be negotiated and signed.
- Must submit a letter of interest and a business plan that will be reviewed by the Incubator Advisory Committee prior to acceptance. The letter must clearly demonstrate a unique innovation and how residency in the Incubator will accelerate their success
- The business operations must be compatible with the available Incubator space
- Lease agreements are one year in duration and can be renewed for a further year by resubmitting an application for review
Services are available to virtual tenants who meet the criteria set out for tenants. These include business advisory support, networking, and programming for innovation and venture creation, as well as occasional access to office and/or boardroom space.
One Incubator space will be reserved for StFX student entrepreneurs in support of the development and launch of their enterprise. While still attending the university, and until their business is generating profits, tenancy will be provided at no charge for up to two years.
